We discovered Sandlands, Trousseau noir through another great recommendation from our local wine shop Bay Grape. Produced in Sanoma County, we tasted it while taking our four-year-old on his first camp trip in northern California. Grown in gravelly loam soils derived from sandstone and shale at 1400 feet, it is a beautiful light bodied red wine with only 9 barrels produced. Highly recommended, try a bottle while supplies last.

Winery: Sandlands  |  Wine: Red  |  Vintage: 2019  |  Alcohol: 12.4% ABV

Body: Light  |  Acidity: Medium plus  |  Tannin: Med plus  |  Dry/Sweet: Dry

Food pairing: Beef, lamb, veal, poultry |  Wine styles: California red blend

Sandlands, Trouseau is a beautifully crafted Californian red blend, that’s light red in color and has a nose of red fruit, must and earth. Bright, light, and not complex, it has a smooth mouth feel that is sweet and tastes of cherry and raspberry, with subtle undertones of vanilla. Finishing with a slight tingle on the tongue and a young vine bitterness, it is very easy to drink and we highly recommend.

Easy to drink, this wine pairs well with beef, lamb, veal, and poultry dishes.
